BoomerAdventuresTV.com is the first internet-based broadband “television” program to focus on entertaining, educational, and cultural adventure travel for baby boomers (defined by Wikipedia as “a person born between 1946 and 1964 in Australia, United Kingdom, Canada and the United States following World War II.”? Boomer Adventures was created and is hosted by Sam Dalton, a long-time baby boomer adventure travel writer and Emmy, Telly, and Parents Choice award-winning television writer/producer.

I developed Boomer Adventures as a result of my own search for information about travel adventures that appeal to me,? said Dalton. ?I am a baby boomer. And I am always looking for places to go and things to do that take me beyond what is readily available to the average tourist crowd. Whether it is exploring a museum, riding white water, zip lining a cloud forest canopy, clambering about archaeological ruins, interviewing a local artisan or crafts person, or discovering a luxurious eco-resort & spa, I want to be educated as well as entertained. I want to participate. I want to experience being part of where I am. And that?s what Boomer Adventures is all about.

Boomer Adventures webisodes follow Sam as he travels in search of destinations and activities where baby boomers can share camaraderie, fun and adventure with friends and family in the United States and around the world. He is a respected travel journalist who has contributed adventurous feature travel articles to a variety of US regional and national publications including Family Fun, Backpacker, EcoTraveler, Touring America, Westways, Sacramento Magazine, and 805 Living Magazine. What are your objectives ?

My primary objective is to produce an educational, informative, and entertaining web-based (and, in the near future, internationally broadcast via satellite) television program that provides a visual as well as “visceral” experience for viewers.? I want them to get a sense of the destinations I visit and the activities in which I participate that goes beyond what one can experience with structured or guided tours.? I? “roll up my sleeves and get down in the dirt”. I get up-close-and-personal with the people I meet, the things that I do, and the places that I visit. I go in search of adventure but I also seek answers to the who, what, where, when, and why of where I am.?

Second. I want the web site to grow into an interactive web-based baby boomer adventure travel portal wherein visitors can find and share information about destinations and activities that are of interest to them. Information about baby boomer adventure travel will be easily accessed according to either destination or activity.

Who are your viewers ?

The target audience for Boomer Adventures is certainly baby boomers (people who were born between the years 1946 and 1964), but also, it is targeted toward anyone who has an interest in adventure travel that incorporates elements that are exciting, educational, cultural, and entertaining. But, even more importantly, it is targeted toward those who want to do more, to find more, to learn more, and to experience more than lying around at the beach, or shopping, or riding around in tour busses, or partying during the time they spend on holiday.?
